of Edmonton and District
The Memorial Society of Edmonton and District is pleased to announce
that we applied for and received a Community Spirit Donation Grant from
Alberta Culture and Community Spirit. Non-profit agencies and charities
that raise a minimum of $1000 in donations from individuals in a year
were invited to apply. Our donations in the 2007-08 year were $16,542.
Few constraints on spending the grant are imposed and The Memorial
Society used most of our grant to increase our advertising in the
Edmonton Journal and the Edmonton Senior newspapers. We also
refurbished the office space to make it more inviting for the public,
staff and volunteers. This year we initiated monthly drop-in
informational workshops and our space is much more inviting.
